Private Detective: Man Who Allegedly Plotted to Kill Stepson’s Grandparents Arraigned

A man accused of plotting to kill his stepson’s grandparents had a video arraignment Tuesday morning in Boyle County.

Kenneth Brown is accused of conspiring with his 12-year-old stepson to kill the boy’s grandparents.

Police say their plotting all happened on social media via Facebook messenger.

According to an arrest warrant: the boy told deputies that Brown instructed him to pack his belongings and leave his bedroom window unlocked, so he could have access to the home of Kathy and William Raley.

The judge assigned him a public defender, set a preliminary hearing date and entered a not guilty plea for him.

Despite the accusations, Brown’s family was in the courtroom to support him.

“The only thing I have to say about my son is he’s innocent and the truth will come out,” said Dolly Brown, mother of Kenneth Brown.

Brown is set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing next Wednesday, May 10 at 10:30 a.m.

Brown was previously being held without bond, but the judge said today he would set a bond amount within the next 24 hours.
