Private Detective: School Investigates Alleged Throat Cutting Incident

Some Garrard County parents are scared after they said another middle school student tried to cut their daughter’s throat Monday morning.

They said the disturbing scene unfolded inside Garrard County Middle School.

The upset parent took to social media posting what they claim happened. In part the post reads that his daughter “was sitting on the the gym floor talking to one of her friends when this girl that she doesn’t even know walks up from behind her and wraps a razor around her neck!”

An incident Paul Mullins, the Garrard County School Superintendent, said he’s taking very seriously.

Over the phone, Superintendent Mullins confirmed to LEX18 the incident took place and that if there was a threat, it has been removed. Mullins went on to say parents should not be concerned about their children’s safety.

We’re told one of the girls who was cut was not seriously hurt and only has minor scratches.

Superintendent Mullins said this is still very much an on-going investigation.

It’s still unknown if there will be any disciplinary actions or if any charges will be filed.

The victim’s family said they’re waiting to see how the school handles the situation before making a comment.

Identity Theft Random Lake, WI Woman Faces Charges

A 48-year-old Random Lake woman is facing felony charges of identity theft after applying for credit cards using a friend’s information.

Christine Murphy is charged with two counts of felony identity theft for financial gain after applying for credit cards at Target, Capital One, and American Express using the identity of the man she was staying with.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

According to the criminal complaint:

A 49-year-old man received information from Target and Equifax that someone had attempted to open credit cards in his name in early March.

While the information on the credit card applications contained mostly his information, the phone number and email address on the application was Murphy’s. The man said he was letting Murphy stay with him because she had no where else to go. He said he did not give her permission to open credit cards under his name.

In an interview with police, Murphy did not deny the allegations, but said she did not remember filling out the application. She said she is on disability for issues that sometimes make her blackout and that her medication makes her a different person.

Private Detective: Police Looking For Thieves Who Stole From Stanton Car Lot

Powell County authorities are asking for the public’s help after thieves stole rims and tires at a Stanton car lot.

The thieves took rims and tires from a Dodge Charger and a Dodge Challenger at Tanner Chrysler Products.

“Well, they were chrome 20 inch rims and they also have low profile tires, so the low profile tires themselves are quite expensive, you’re probably going to exceed 12 or 13 hundred dollars for just the set of tires,” said owner Darrell Billings.

Billings also said a truck on his lot had the wheels taken from it as well. That is an estimated additional $1,500.

He says that the thieves had to work quickly because of police patrol.

“Based on their logs they actually came through and drove through our lot every single night, 5, 6, 7 times so it was probably done within an hour,” said Billings.

A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

Security has been increased around the lot, including new cameras being installed.

Wrongful Death Louisville Police Investigating Child’s Death

The Homicide Unit of the Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating after a 5-month-old boy died of blunt force injuries.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the child as Noah Jones. Deputy Coroner James Wesley said the child suffered multiple blunt force injuries, describing them as “inflicted trauma.”

Residents at a home in the 2200 block of Date Street, where the baby and his mother were staying, said the baby was taken to Kosair Children’s hospital on Monday morning.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

The residents said the baby died on Wednesday and people in the home suspect foul play due to the child’s injuries.

“He had 11 broken ribs, (a) fractured skull, broken arm, bleeding from the brain,” a woman who wanted to remain anonymous told WAVE 3 News.

Detectives haven’t identified a suspect and family members are advised by police to steer clear of details, but are using community activist Christopher 2X to speak on their behalf.

“They even described to me an indescribable amount of pain and the weight connected to that pain in losing a five month old child,” 2X said.

Neurath-Schoppenhorst Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.
