Private Detective: Man Wears Unique Hat When Robbing Bank

A bank robber didn’t get much money when he robbed the Chase Bank on Nichols Park.

“Immediately goes and yells to everyone, intimidation, everybody get on the ground I’ve got a gun.  He doesn’t pull one out, but he implies one in his pocket,” said Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

He ordered the two tellers to empty their drawers, but thanks to the bank’s security system, that wasn’t much.

“If they try to come in here and get more cash, they’re gonna have to stand around and wait on police.  Any bank robber knows when you walk into a bank and start to make a disturbance, police are already on their way,” said Thomas.

The robber looked right at the bank’s cameras.

He was wearing a red, flowery, fisherman’s cap.

If you recognize him, you can call in an anonymous tip at (859) 253- 2020.

Pedophile Tracking Former Birmingham Police Officer Facing Charges

A former Birmingham police officer who faces child sex abuse and rape charges in Alabaster now faces an additional charge in south Alabama.

Joshua Herbinger, 30, is charged with sex abuse of a child less than 12 in Baldwin County, court records show. The former Birmingham Police Department evidence technician was indicted on the new charge in August and jailed last week.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Court records filed by an Orange Beach police investigator say the abuse happened more than a year ago while Herbinger was on vacation there. The records indicate the victim was the same victim in the Alabaster case.

Herbinger was released from the Baldwin County Jail Friday after posting $50,000 bond. He was allowed to return to his grandmother’s home in Pleasant Grove with conditions to stay away from his victim and to stay off the computers.

He was first arrested Oct. 9,, 2014 and charged with four counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old after a young female reported the abuse to the School Resource Officer at her school. Alabaster police said Herbinger is not related to the victim.

He was arrested again by Alabaster police andcharged in the rape of an adult woman. He was charged with first-degree rape, and police said he wasn’t in any kind of relationship with the victim.

In late October 2014, he was fired from the Birmingham Police Department after serving nine years on the force.

Fraud Investigation Winchester Man Admits Defrauding His Employer Out of Millions of Dollars

A Winchester man has admitted to stealing over $3 million from his former employer, Apollo Oil.

On Monday, Bradley E. Taylor, 38, pleaded guilty to wire fraud, before U.S. District Court Judge Danny C. Reeves. Taylor, who worked as Apollo’s operations manager, admitted that he created a fictitious supplier, called BCW, LLC, and falsified purchase orders, invoices, and other shipping documents, causing Apollo to issue checks to BCW for nonexistent products. Taylor then stole the checks issued by Apollo, deposited them into a bank account he opened in the name of BCW, and converted the proceeds to his personal use.

http://liarcatchers.com/fraud_investigation.html

According to the plea agreement, from 2004 to 2014, Taylor caused Apollo to issue 232 checks to BCW, totaling $3,055,422.33. Taylor personally received all of
this money.

Taylor waived his right to be indicted by a grand jury, was formally charged in court, and admitted to the charges.

Taylor is scheduled to be sentenced on January 27, 2016. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000. However, any sentence will be
imposed by the Court after consideration of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and the federal statutes.

Drug Dog Sweep Yarmouth, MA Woman Arrested

Police arrested a West Yarmouth woman for trafficking in prescription narcotics Friday, Oct. 2, after using a K9 unit to search a package en route from Florida.

Alerted to a suspicious package addressed to Rosa Herrera, 32, officers with the YPD and the State Police Drug Unit used a trained dog to inspect it. The dog Koda indicated the presence of drugs, and police waited for Herrera to arrive at the post office to retrieve the package.

When she picked up the package and left the post office, police stopped Herrera, and searched the package. They say it contained an innocuous-looking vitamin container, in which they found 775 pills identified as 30-milligram oxycodone, an addictive opioid painkiller.

Police say the approximate street value of the pills was $30,000. They arrested Herrera for trafficking a class A substance.
