Missing Person Body of 18 Year Old Found

The body of missing 18-year-old Levi Schneider has been found in the woods outside Marion, Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry confirmed on Thursday.

Schneider’s body has been taken to the State Crime Lab in Missoula for an autopsy, but Curry said evidence points to a possible suicide. That cannot be confirmed until autopsy results are available.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

It’s a tragic turn to a confusing case, Curry said. Schneider was last seen on July 7, when his stepdad dropped him off at his grandparents’ house in Marion, according to an interview with Schneider’s father, Ray Schneider. Levi was not officially declared as a missing person until July 15. The sheriff’s office and search and rescue crews canvassed the area where he was last seen, using manpower, helicopters and dogs in the search. On Monday, the sheriff’s office reported that Schneider was spotted by family, alive in Kalispell. It looked to be a situation in which Schneider was not contacting his family, the sheriff said.

Curry said his office then pulled back search efforts, waiting to see Schneider in person before officially removing him from the missing persons’ list, but the sheriff considered the case solved.

But that sighting was apparently of another person named Levi who looked like Schneider, Curry said on Thursday, and the search was back on.

“It’s been moderately confusing,” Curry said of the case.

Based on the state of the body found in the area of Gopher Lane, it appeared that Schneider has been dead the whole time the search has taken place, Curry said. Schneider was found in an area that was relatively hidden, the sheriff said, and it appears the cause of death may have been a gunshot wound to the head.

The body was found by family, Curry said.

Wrongful Death Bardstown Officers Say No Rest Until Murderer Found

Thursday marks two months since Bardstown police officer Jason Ellis was ambushed, shot and killed along the Bluegrass Parkway.

Police don’t have any suspects in the case, but promise they won’t rest until they have found the person responsible.

It was in the parking lot of the Bardstown Police Department 2 months ago, when Chief Rick McCubbin said he would not rest until he found those responsible for the murder of Jason Ellis.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

“It’s probably been the fastest two months.,” Chief McCubbin said.

He now wears some bracelets as a constant reminder of a case not yet solved..

“Through everyday that ticks away from the date this has happened, we try to look at it positively that it’s one more day we are getting closer to closing it,” he said.

Officer’s are keeping positice, Chief McCUbbin says, despite threats from unknown people saying more officers would be killed.

“We came out pretty strongly against it, and said basically ‘bring it if that’s what you got,’ we are not going to stop our investigation and since doing that we have received nothing, so we hope that much has ended,” Chief McCubbin said.

The police department continues their investigation. They even provide security to the family of the fallen officer.

“We are trying to keep that going for a while, we want to make sure they are comfortable,” he said. “Though there are no threats toward her or the boys or that family, we want to make sure we are doing our part to keep that safe feeling and keep her comfortable.”

It’s for that family who wakes up everyday without a son, husband and father that they won’t stop until justice is served.

On August 3rd, Bluegrass Barkery will host an event for officer Ellis’s K-9 Figo. The event starts at 9:00 a.m. at Keeneland.

The goal is to raise enough money to pay for the long term care of Figo. The Ellis family is caring for the dog now.

Pedophile Tracking Convicted Predator Arrested in Naperville, IL

A convicted child sexual predator was arrested after he allegedly made six improper 911 calls to Naperville Police and was then found in a public park in the western suburb.

Bond was set at $100,000 for Nequan T. Vaughn, 29, of Chicago. He faces trial on felony charges of making a false 911 report and being a sexual offender or child sex offender present in a public park, according to records on file in DuPage County Circuit Court.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Vaughn was arrested about 3:21 p.m. Friday in Will-O-Way Park, at 1408 W. Jefferson Ave. Police records indicated the arrest followed a series of events that began about 2:05 p.m. at a nearby condominium complex.

Sgt. Lou Cammiso said officers were initially called to the complex on the 1500 block of West Jefferson Avenue.

“It was a trespassing issue,” in which Vaughn “a couple hours earlier had been issued a trespassing warning,” and at which time police “learned of his status as a registered sex offender,” Cammiso said Monday.

Vaughn subsequently “started calling 911, demanding to speak to the officer” who investigated the trespassing complaint, Cammiso said. A police dispatcher told Vaughn “several times not to call [911] for that purpose, and to call the non-emergency line,” he said.

Cammiso said Vaughn made six 911 calls before making contact with the officer, who asked him where he could be found.

Vaughn allegedly replied “he was in the park, sitting on a bench near the ball fields,” Cammiso said. “And obviously, as a registered sex offender, he wasn’t supposed to be in a park” or any other public place frequented by children, he said.

Cammiso said a police report did not indicate who filed the trespassing complaint against Vaughn or why it was filed. He also said he did not have details concerning Vaughn’s arrest on the child sex charges or his designation as a sex offender.

Illinois State Police records showed Vaughn was convicted in Cook County of a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16. Those records provided no further details concerning the crime, but noted Vaughn is classified as a “non-compliant sexual predator.”

Court documents indicated Vaughn has no criminal record in DuPage, Kane and Will counties. His arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 19.

Private Detective Former Owner of Pharmaceutical Company Pleads Guilty to FDA Violations

The former owner of National Respiratory Services, LLC (NRS) and a former minority shareholder have pleaded guilty in United States District Court before Magistrate Judge James D. Moyer to charges of misbranding and altering drugs, and the company admitted to committing health care fraud, announced David J. Hale, United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Christopher Keegan, age 55, of Lexington, Kentucky, the former owner of NRS, pleaded guilty yesterday to count two of a federal information and agreed to a restitution payment of $2,030,343.11 to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, jointly and severally with co-defendants.

According to the plea agreement, while owner and majority shareholder of NRS, Keegan and others, through NRS, caused compounded medications to be sent to patients, through interstate commerce, which were sub-potent, super-potent, non-sterile, and therefore adulterated and misbranded in violation of the Food Drug & Cosmetic Act. Further, Keegan and others, through NRS, then submitted to Medicare false and fraudulent billings which indicated that the medications they were providing to patients were non-compounded and FDA-approved when they were not. The total loss of this activity is $2,030,343.11. Compounded medications are not FDA approved, but FDA regulations permit pharmacists to make compounded drugs, including prescription drugs, in limited amounts and under narrow circumstances, for particular patients and at the direction of a physician when other available drugs cannot be prescribed.

Also, co-defendant James Rives, age 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, a former minority shareholder of NRS, pleaded guilty yesterday to count two of the federal information and agreed to a restitution payment of $75,996.85. As a result of the plea agreement, the United States will not pursue felony charges of conspiracy to commit health care fraud against Rives for the activity he engaged in during the period of 2006 through 2008 while defendant Rives was associated with NRS.

At sentencing, the defendants face a maximum term of one year in prison, a fine, restitution, and a period of supervised release.

In separate indictments, Johnny Perry, of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, the former vice-president of NRS, was charged on August 3, 2011, and pleaded guilty to a five-count felony indictment. Perry admitted that between June of 2006 and June of 2008, as vice-president of NRS, she provided compounded medications to patients, but led both Medicare and the patients’ doctors to believe that the pharmaceutical company was providing non-compounded medications. Also, Perry admitted to submitting false and fraudulent claims to Medicare for the cost of FDA-approved, commercially manufactured, prescription inhalation drugs, when they were not. Sentencing is scheduled for August 5, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in Louisville before Chief Judge Joseph H. McKinley, Jr.

Former NRS pharmacists Leo Parrino and Linda Schmidt pleaded guilty to introducing compounded inhalation drugs that bore false and misleading labeling and represented them to be of greater strength and potency than they actually were. Parrino pleaded guilty to the charge on September 8, 2011 and was sentenced by Magistrate Judge Moyer to one year probation and restitution in the amount of $14,098.24 and Schmidt was sentenced to one year probation and restitution in the amount of $20,000.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lettricea Jefferson-Webb and it was investigated by the Food and Drug Administration Office of Criminal Investigations, Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
