Pedophile Tracking TX Child Sex Predator Gets Life in Prison

Charles Moorhead, 35, has been sentenced to life in prison for having sex with a teenage girl.

District Attorney Rene Pena, who represents the 81st District of Texas, tells News 4 San Antonio the case against Moorhead came to light as part of his office’s Human Sex Trafficking Initiative.

Pena’s office provides training to various groups in the community about human trafficking, because Pena believes the more educated and aware people are, the harder it is for predators to hide.

Moorhead sexually assaulted a teen girl inside a bathroom of a Stockdale laundromat. “It just goes to show that it can happen anywhere,” said Pena. Investigators say the crime occurred last February.

Pena says, educators noticed a change in the teen girl, “and they were able to contact our partners.”

Pena went on to say, this case is an example of multiple agencies working together, sharing information to take a dangerous predator off the streets.

Moorhead is no stranger to law enforcement, and in 1999, he was sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting a woman in her 80’s.

Moorhead spent 15 years behind bars before his release.

“We must protect the general public against individuals with those propensities, so I think justice was served,” added Pena.

Moorhead received a life sentence this time due to his previous felony conviction for Aggravated Sexual Assault in 1999.

Wrongful Death Mexico Detains Woman Wanted in Slaying of TX Dentist

A woman who was on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted fugitives list for the killing of her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend in Texas has been detained in Mexico.

Brenda Delgado was detained at a house in the city of Torreon, in northern Coahuila state, the Attorney General’s Office said Friday.

She will be held at a Mexico City prison pending extradition proceedings. She faces charges of capital murder and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in connection with the September death of Dr. Kendra Hatcher, a dentist.

Hatcher, 35, was fatally shot in the parking garage of a Dallas apartment complex. Police have arrested the suspected gunman. Delgado is accused of hiring accomplices to carry out the hit.

Investigators say Delgado was jealous because Hatcher was dating her ex-boyfriend and had recently been introduced to his parents.

The boyfriend had dated Delgado for about two years before his relationship with Hatcher.

Private Detective: Man Sets Up Fake DUI Checkpoint and Gets Charged with DUI

A western Pennsylvania man set up a fake drunken-driving checkpoint only to be charged with drunken driving himself when real troopers arrived to investigate.

The Somerset Daily American says 20-year-old Logan Shaulis will be sentenced June 27. He pleaded guilty Thursday to drunken driving, possessing instruments of crime, and impersonating a public servant.

Police say Shaulis used a flashing blue light bar, parked diagonally across state Route 601 and set up road flares about 4 a.m. on May 30, 2015.

A motorist who stopped says Shaulis claimed he was a trooper with the “drug and alcohol division” and demanded to see her identification.

When police arrived, Shaulis tried to hand a BB pistol to the car’s passenger, saying he couldn’t get caught with it.

Shaulis’ attorney says Shaulis has since completed substance abuse treatment.

Pedophile Tracking Wolfe County Man Targets Children Again

The Campton man who was targeting children at a Wolfe county park a year and a half ago is behind bars again. Investigators with Kentucky State Police say this time he’s accused of another crime also involving children

Troopers say Mitchell Ratliff, 27, tried luring children over the computer but instead found himself talking to an undercover cop.

Parents, like Sharon Spencer, who know Ratliff say this isn’t the first time he’s done something like this, “when I seen my little girl and the other kids running to me she was crying into fits and I seen him run out of the park so I knew something terrible had happened.”

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

LEX18 first reported Sharon’s story back in September 2014. Ratliff had been exposing himself to children, including Sharon’s 7 year-old daughter, at the park.

Although it’s been almost two years since the incident with her daughter, Sharon says it’s something they still deal with everyday, “my little girl every time she would see him she would lay down or hit the floorboard and start balling and just shaking all over.”

But why was Ratliff walking the streets a free man? State Police say even though Ratliff plead guilty to indecent exposure, and had another charge dismissed, in 2014 it was only considered a misdemeanor.

According to Trooper Joe Veeneman, Ratliff was sentenced to 90 days but only served 38 of those days. But they say with his current felony charge Ratliff could be locked up up to five years.

“I feel so much better,” Spencer said. “It’s like bricks has been lifted off of my chest knowing he’s not out here hurting another child the way that he hurt my baby.”

Ratliff is currently at the Three Forks Jail and has a $10,000 cash bond.

“I just want justice this time because it didn’t happen last time when he hurt her and he’s going to continue doing this if something is not done about it,” Spencer said.
