Wrongful Death Body Parts Found in Seattle Recycling Bin

Human remains found in a Seattle homeowner’s recycling bin on Saturday have been tentatively linked to a woman who vanished Friday after a date with a man she met online, according to KCPQ.

Seattle police say three adult body parts were found in a recycling bin in the city’s Central District Saturday. After learning of the missing person report from Renton police — a nearby city, southeast of Seattle — homicide detectives identified the remains as belonging to Ingrid Lyne, the missing mother of three.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will officially confirm the victim’s identity after performing an autopsy.

Officers arrested 37-year-old Snohomish County man John Robert Charlton in connection with Lyne’s murder. Evidence, including telephone call records, helped police identify a suspect and eventually serve a warrant in cooperation with the Renton Police Department.

Police took Charlton, who they believe was the man on the date with Lyne, to the King County Jail.

The Seattle Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating her missing vehicle, a silver 2015 Toyota Highlander bearing Washington plate AUW3230.
Neighbors say investigators have been in the neighborhood all weekend.

Friends and neighbors became concerned when Lyne, a nurse at a local hospital, didn’t show up Saturday morning to pick up her three children, KCPQ reported.

Getting choked up at times, Edward Franceschina earlier shared his concern over the disappearance of his neighbor Lyne, who he says he saw more as a daughter.
“I don’t know; it’s not good,” said Franceschina. “The purse, the telephone and everything was in the house.”

Private Detective: Lexington Police Looking For Hit and Run Driver

Lexington Police are looking for a man they say hit another driver and then took off. It happened on Russell Cave Road near Faith Street a little before 9 o’clock Sunday evening.

“I basically got T-boned,” said driver Earnest Smith.

Earnest Smith says he was on his way back home from stopping at McDonald’s when the man driving a hatchback crashed into him.

“He’s on the wrong side of the street. He comes up the other side of the road. Hits me right there at the turn,” said Smith.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Smith says he was shocked when the man took off.

“He got out of the car and ran cause he said, ‘oh sir I’m sorry, this is my mom’s car and I’m on probation and I can’t do this right now,” he said.

Luckily, no one was seriously hurt.

“A couple thousand dollars. He messed up here, my tire, my whole door,” said Smith.

Smith says he may go get checked out at the hospital just to be safe. As for the man who hit him, Smith says he hopes police catch up with him before he hurts himself or someone else.

“He was a white guy. Blue jeans on, can’t tell what shirt he had on. I can’t remember much about it. I was too much just thinking about calling the police to have my car taken care of,” said Smith.

If you have any information on the crash, you’re asked to call Lexington Police.

Identity Theft IRS Identity Theft Prevention Tool Hacked

The Identity Protection PIN tool on the IRS.gov site has been temporarily suspended—because it was recently hacked into. The tool provides retrieval of forgotten or lost IP PINs to users who want an extra layer of protection against identity theft.

But some users who received the IP PINs recently via the online tool learned that a thief had used their IP PIN to file tax returns in their name.

So now, for the moment, you cannot use the IRS’s online function to retrieve your IP PIN; meanwhile, the IRS is investigating the hack.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

The online tool attracts taxpayers who lost or forgot the six-digit IP PIN they were issued via snail mail. Despite the suspension of the tool, taxpayers are encouraged to file their returns without any qualms. The IP PINs purpose is to add additional protection to the user, but is not required to process a tax return.

Lesson learned: If you ever receive an IP PIN in the future…memorize it or write it down in hardcopy and keep in a safe place.

Tips from the IRS

  • There will always be someone who misplaces or accidentally throws out the letter containing the IP PIN, or who intentionally discards the document but then can’t remember the number and never wrote it down. They should call the IRS in the wake of this suspension.
  • Over the phone, they will need to verify their identity, after which they will receive a letter with the IP PIN.
  • If since the first of this year the taxpayer has moved, they will need to file a paper return, and this will take longer to process if it doesn’t contain an IP PIN.
  • The IP PIN is given out to those at risk or who feel at risk for tax identity theft. But again, it’s not necessary to use it if it’s been lost or forgotten. But for those who managed to retrieve their number, they should include it on their tax return.

A former Morris County Investment Adviser who pleaded guilty to organizing a $1.178 million Securities and Annuities fraud scheme was sentenced to seven years in prison Monday in Somerset County Superior Court.

Janet Fooshee, 63, pleaded guilty in December to 31 of 37 charges contained in a pair of indictments brought against her in 2012 and 2013.

The courtroom was packed with victims. Outside the courtroom, victims declined to comment, but one joyfully said to a group, “It was great to see her led out in handcuffs.”

http://liarcatchers.com/fraud_investigation.html

The case was prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office and the Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor. Fooshee was sentenced before Superior Court Judge Edward M. Coleman.

Under the plea deal, Fooshee has also agreed to pay $415,000 in restitution to the victims, some of whom lived in a retirement community where she volunteered to be a bookkeeper.

“Janet Fooshee will spend time in prison for trading on her expertise as an investment adviser to facilitate a devious fraud scheme that harmed investors who trusted her with their hard-earned money,” said Acting Insurance Fraud Investigator Christopher Iu in a statement. “Ms. Fooshee’s seven-year prison sentence demonstrates the Office of Insurance Fraud’s commitment to holding accountable any fraudster who preys on innocent, unsuspecting investors.”

Her husband, Richard Fooshee, 64, an attorney, had pleaded guilty to second-degree charges of conspiracy, money laundering, and securities fraud. He was accepted in the Pre-Trial Intervention program.

Janet Fooshee, also known as Janet Gurley and Janet Katz, admitted during her guilty plea to illegally taking money from more than two dozen retirees and other clients over a 10-year stretch beginning in 2003.

Janet Fooshee, who now lives in Lambertville, also admitted to fraudulently servicing more than 100 financial account statements that increased 14 of her clients’ accounts by a combined $818,000, stealing approximately $151,000 from four clients, pocketing more than $191,539 in unlawful investment adviser fees, bilking another client out of nearly $81,000, and stealing the identities of approximately eight corporations.

Janet Fooshee was an investment adviser who worked at Wachovia Securities, Inc. before forming Janet Gurley Katz LLC in 2003.

In the commission of her crimes, she admitted to fraudulently using the logos of Fidelity Investments, Dreyfus, Alliance Bernstein, Wells Fargo, Transamerica Life Insurance Company, ING, AIG Life Insurance Company, Bank of America/Merrill Lynch and JMB Realty Corporation.

Janet Fooshee pleaded guilty to second-degree identity theft, second-degree conspiracy, second -degree securities fraud, second-degree theft by unlawful taking, second-degree misapplication of entrusted property, third-degree identity theft, fourth-degree forgery and fourth-degree falsifying or tampering with records.

Private Detective: Man Charged With Series of Crimes in Laurel County

A man in Laurel County was charged with second series of crimes while he was already behind bars.

Scottie Seeley was first picked up by deputies around 5 o’clock Saturday morning for public intoxication after someone reported him knocking on their door and creating a disturbance.

Then around 10:30 a.m., the same caller called back in saying they’d be burglarized. Deputies say over $600 worth of property had been taken from the residence on John Deere Trail.

Footprints tied Seeley to the burglary, according to investigators.

Seeley was then charged with burglary, criminal trespassing and criminal mischief while already being held in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Private Detective: Family Speaks Out After Babysitter Allegedly Abuses 4 Month Old

A four-month-old baby is still recovering from injuries in the intensive care unit at UK Hospital, almost a week after police say she was severely injured by her babysitter.

“She’s a little fighter. I call her my little tough cookie,” said Kylie Jo’s aunt, Lauren Sizemore.

Sunday marked day six of recovery for Kylie Jo.

“She’s made improvements but she still has a long way to go. We’re just hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst,” said Sizemore.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Kylie Jo is suffering a skull fracture, brain damage, broken ribs, a broken leg and has also had several seizures and a stroke. The four-month-old was rushed to the hospital this past Tuesday after Nicholasville Police say her babysitter, Erin Thompson, purposely did this to her.

“We never thought at one point that anything like this would happen due to her being a church member and Sunday school teacher. We just assumed that she was in great hands and come to find out that the exact opposite,” said Sizemore.

Sizemore says Kylie’s parents, her brother and sister-in-law, are taking it day by day.

“Been by her side ever since. And they’re just doing what any other parent would do. Just be strong for her and keep saying your prayers and she’s holding on,” said Sizemore.

This weekend, several businesses showed support by holding fundraisers for the family.

“It’s amazing how people know that something like this, people have to come together, and they really have for them. They appreciate every bit. They really do,” said Sizemore.

Now they’re asking for your thoughts and prayers.

“She’s been a little trooper. Just keep her in your prayers and she’ll make it through,” she said.

This weekend, the SEC Sports Pub in Lexington raised $1,500 for the family, and Wild Cuts in Nicholasville raised almost $700.
